Pet Tip #1:
If your dog gets "skunked", here's a quick recipe using household items to eliminate the odor- 1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide 1/4 cup baking soda 1 Tsp liquid soap Mix and immediately apply to your pet. Rinse thoroughly with water. Skunk spray can cause ulcerations of the corneas if it gets into the eyes or, in rare cases, can cause anemia if it contacts the mucous membranes. Seek veterinary care if you notice squinting or lethargy.

Pet Tip #2:
To remove an attached tick, take tweezers and place them underneath the tick as close to the skin as possible and gently pull upwards. The mouthparts of the tick must be completely removed so it's important to remove it correctly the first time. Seek veterinary care if you need further assistance and make sure your pet is current on topical flea and tick prevention.
